The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is holding its 4th Global Manufacturing Conference in Vienna, Austria, from September 26-28, 2023. The conference will focus on accelerating solutions for sustainable manufacturing. In conjunction with the conference, the IFC is hosting a Flash Essay Contest for Women in Manufacturing.
IFC 2023 Flash Essay Contest for Women in Manufacturing
The essay contest is open to women from developing countries who are working in or studying manufacturing. The winner of the contest will receive a trip to Vienna to attend the conference and participate in a private reception with members of the IFC leadership team.
To enter the contest, please submit an essay of up to 500 words on the following topic:
What are the most critical challenges facing women in manufacturing today, and what are some innovative solutions that can be implemented to address these challenges?
Essays must be submitted by September 4, 2023.
Judging Criteria:
Essays will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Originality and creativity
- Clarity and conciseness
- Depth of understanding of the topic
- Impact of the proposed solutions
Prizes:
- First Place: Trip to Vienna to attend the IFC’s 4th Global Manufacturing Conference and participate in a private reception with members of the IFC leadership team
- Second Place: $500 cash prize
- Third Place: $250 cash prize
In addition to the top three prizes, all finalists will receive a one-year subscription to the IFC’s Women in Manufacturing newsletter.
