The TechGirls 2024 Summer Exchange Program is a fully-funded international program designed to empower and support young women (ages 15-17) from the United States and select countries around the world to pursue higher education and careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. This immersive four-week program provides participants with hands-on skills development training, cultural exchange opportunities, and mentorship from experienced STEM professionals.
To be eligible for the TechGirls 2024 Summer Exchange Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a female teenager between the ages of 15-17 at the time of application.
- Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or one of the eligible participating countries:
- Sub-Saharan Africa: Cameroon, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, and Zambia
- East Asia and Pacific: Cambodia, Fiji, Indonesia, Mongolia, Taiwan, and Vietnam
- Europe and Eurasia: Albania, Cyprus, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, and Türkiye
- Middle East and North Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Territories, and Tunisia
- South and Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan
- Western Hemisphere: Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, and Suriname
- Demonstrate a strong interest in STEM fields and a passion for pursuing a STEM career.
- Possess a good academic record with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (or equivalent).
- Exhibit strong English language proficiency (both written and spoken).
- Be committed to attending all program activities and participating fully in the exchange experience.
The TechGirls 2024 Summer Exchange Program aims to achieve the following objectives:
- Empower and inspire young women to pursue higher education and careers in STEM fields.
- Provide participants with hands-on STEM skills development training and mentorship.
- Foster cross-cultural understanding and collaboration among young women from diverse backgrounds.

The TechGirls 2024 Summer Exchange Program consists of two main components:
- U.S.-Based Exchange: Participants will spend four weeks in the United States, where they will engage in a variety of activities, including:
- Hands-on STEM skills development workshops and training.
- Site visits to STEM organizations and companies.
- Cultural excursions and community engagement activities.
- Mentorship from experienced STEM professionals.
- Seven-Month Mentoring Program: Following the U.S.-based exchange, participants will participate in a seven-month mentoring program that provides ongoing support, guidance, and networking opportunities.

- Complete the Online Application Form: Fill out the online application form with all required information, including personal details, academic background, extracurricular activities, and a personal statement highlighting your interest in STEM and career aspirations.
